I would say that some of the musical references is Nick Drake or Simon & Garfunkel, just with more and better guitars. Some soul music is also lurking in the background. If you wonder how the sound; check them out on MySpace.

The core of Tenderleaves are songwriting team Geir Kongshaug and Even Øygarden. After making record after record of songs that ended up in one place or another amongst their own private record collections over that last ten years, they decided in 2008 to go in an all together more adventurous direction. The got together the best musicians they knew, bringing them down to their native Kristiansand and spent two years compiling their eponymous debut, which finally saw the light of day in November 2010. Words like “genre” or “sound” never really came up, with more value placed on the actual songcraft itself, though the songs do bring to mind 60s pop and also traditional folk. Tenderleaves is no studio only project, they are first and foremost a live band. But there is no hectic, glitzy live show, the focus is placed squarely on delivering the best ever rendition of each and every song, every time. (From By:larm)
